Laurent Mechin, Executive Chef & Culinary Director, St. Julien Hotel & Spa was the BIFF CineCHEF winner in 2016. Chef Mechin’s early childhood was spent in the French Jura Mountains where his first kitchen post was at l’Auberge du Moulin de la Chapelle in Burgundy. His many influential experiences include apprenticing at the Michelin star restaurant l’Auberge de Chavannes under acclaimed Chef Pierre Carpentier. His career continued as Chef de Cuisine at the Sutton Place Hotel in Newport Beach, Chef at the Four Seasons Hotel in Newport Beach and he opened several restaurants at the Four Seasons Resort Papagayo in Costa Rica. He recently held the position of Executive Sous Chef at The Four Seasons Resort in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Currently, Chef Mechin is the Executive Chef of the St Julien Hotel & Spa and oversees Jill’s restaurant, Bistro, T-Zero Bar, The Terrace, in room dining and catering.
