Boulder International Film Festival to host 2016 Foovie Event

The food + movie Valentine’s event to benefit the BIFF and Colorado Film Society

Boulder, CO – The Boulder International Film Festival (BIFF) is hosting the 2016 Foovie (food + movie) event as a benefit for the non-profit BIFF, and the Colorado Film Society. The Mardi Gras-themed benefit will be held on Saturday, February 13th from 5:00 PM to 9:30 PM at eTown Hall in Boulder.

Foovie-goers get the FIRST look at the always-popular BIFF 2016 short comedies. For over a decade, BIFF’s short-film programs have become incredibly popular. Many of these short films go on to win awards and propel filmmakers to larger projects.

The evening will include cuisine from Guillaume’s European Catering, and beverages from Francis Ford Coppola Winery and Boulder Beer. Food and drinks will kick-off the evening, followed by a drawing for a BIFF festival pass, a Francis Ford Coppola wine basket and other exciting gifts. Then, be the first to see a delightful selection of the BIFF 2016 short comedies. After the shorts, enjoy desserts and sparkling wine, as well as dancing to Mardi-Gras Zydeco band Jockamo.

Tickets to the event are $95.00, and directly benefit the year-round efforts of BIFF to inspire upcoming filmmakers, support local non-profits, and bring programming to students and seniors alike.

The timing is perfect for a fun, exciting Valentine’s Day date with friends, or your special someone, and you are supporting the arts in Colorado,” said Kathy Beeck, Festival Director. “Come support a great cause, and enjoy a full evening of food and fun!”
