Throughout the festival, the Call2Action Talkback Tent has provided a space for community members to come together and discuss a variety of issues.
A group of passionate people concerned about gun laws joined the panelists today at the ‘Under the Gun’ Talk Back. Many of whom shared their personal connection to a moment when they were impacted by gun violence.
The room provided a space to bring the highly sensitive subject to light, and discuss what everyone could do to become more involved. For people eager to become a part of the movement, they discussed how one of the biggest things someone can do is to just talk about the issue and to reduce the stigma surrounding it.
One of Colorado’s Senators mentioned how it’s been a long fight towards stricter gun control laws, and having people stay engaged plays such an important role.
