Honoring Actor with Career Achievement Award
Boulder, CO – The 12th Annual Boulder International Film Festival (BIFF), which attracts more than 25,000 film enthusiasts, media and industry every year, has announced the attendance of award-winning, two-time Academy Award® nominated actor, Bruce Dern.
“A Conversation and Tribute to Bruce Dern” will feature a presentation of the “Career Achievement Award” to Mr. Dern and a retrospective of his career, followed by an unforgettable interview with Dern conducted by BIFF special event producer Ron Bostwick.
The evening will take place on Friday, March 4, at 7:15pm with Mr. Dern walking the red carpet into the Boulder Theater. Tickets are on sale for $25 and may be purchased at www.biff1.com.
Bruce Dern’s career has spanned decades, encompassing multiple prestigious awards and critically acclaimed successes. Dern’s career is made up of playing both modern day heroes and legendary villains, and, through decades of performances, he has acquired the reputation of being one of the most talented and prolific actors of his generation.
Dern has starred in such classic films as “The King of Marvin Gardens” with Jack Nicholson and Ellen Burstyn as well as playing Tom Buchanan in “The Great Gatsby” (for which he received a Golden Globe nomination). He went down in history for his role as Long Hair in “The Cowboys” in which he became the first man ever to kill John Wayne on screen. It was his brilliant and powerful performance in Hal Ashby’s “Coming Home” that earned him both an Academy Award and Golden Globe nomination.
Dern won the 2013 Best Actor Award at the Cannes Film Festival and garnered his second Academy Award nomination for Best Actor in “Nebraska.” His latest film, “The Hateful Eight” by Quentin Tarantino, has been nominated for three Academy Awards.

Other honorees at BIFF have included Alan Arkin, Shirley MacLaine, Alec Baldwin, Martin Sheen,
William H. Macy, Blythe Danner, Oliver Stone, and James Franco, along with many other award-winning directors, producers, and writers.
