Appearance by Golden Globe-Nominated Actor and Director Emilio Estevez and the
Colorado Premiere of The Public
Festival to Present Prestigious
Vanguard Award to Emilio Estevez with Q&A after the Screening
BOULDER, Colo. (January 22, 2019) – The
Boulder International Film Festival (BIFF) is pleased to announce Golden
Globe-nominated actor and director Emilio Estevez will make a special
appearance at the screening of his new film, The Public, at BIFF’s Red Carpet Event on Saturday, March 2nd at
the Boulder Theater. Emilio Estevez will be
presented the Boulder International Film Festival’s prestigious Vanguard Award.
In addition, Mr. Estevez will participate in a Q&A with Ron Bostwick following
the screening. BIFF 2019 is February 28-March 3 and brings films,
filmmakers and fans together from around the world to Boulder for a four-day
celebration of film.
“We are thrilled that Emilio Estevez is bringing The Public to the Festival and accepting
our Vanguard Award,” said Robin Beeck, BIFF’s Executive Director. “Mr. Estevez
is a humanitarian, as well as an accomplished actor, writer, director and
producer. We’re very excited to talk with him about his important new film and
his great body of work.”
Emilio Estevez appeared in
such critically-acclaimed films as The Outsiders, The
Breakfast Club, Repo Man, and St. Elmo’s Fire before
writing and starring in That Was Then, This is Now. He directed and starred in The War at Home with
his dad Martin Sheen (previous BIFF award-winner), and wrote,
directed and starred in The Way with him in 2010. Other
film credits include Mission: Impossible, and the Stakeout, Young
Guns and Mighty Ducks movies.
