Friday Night Parties: Food and Drinks

Friday night’s events, the Audi Happy Hour and Cinechef, brought attendees together to mingle over the upcoming films over some delicious food and drinks.

The Lazy Dog hosted the Audi Happy Hour, fully catered with delicious wings, chips and dips. Attendees sipped on Boulder Beer and Coppola Wines while listening to the acoustic guitar players. The Lazy Dog always provides a wonderful atmosphere of connection for  BIFF attendees.

The Audi Happy Hour led into one of BIFF’s most loved events, CineChef. Cinechef hosts different restaurants from Boulder, where chefs create dishes inspired by favorite historic films. Attendees taste each dish and then vote for their favorites.

Wild Standard, Bradford Heap’s new restaurant, made “The Dance Poke,” based off of the beloved Wes Anderson film, “Life Aquatic.” The presentation matched the amazing fresh flavor of the appetizer. Bradford and his son, Colter Heap, and assistant chef worked together to work their appetizing booth, truly making it a family affair.

Blackbelly Market’s chef Hosea Rosenberg created “Extra-Wonderful Supersized-Sliders” based off of the impactful documentary, “Super Size Me.” The sliders were absolutely delectable and topped with freshly cut prosciutto a homemade tater-tot.

Chef Alec Schuler of Arugula and Tangerine made Octopus Carpaccio with arugula, curried radish, fennel, orange and oregano infused olive oil. This fresh and light dish was loved by all attendees. Schuler, a second-timer at Cinechef, based his dish off of the film “Octopussy.”

Chef Laurent Mechin of Jill’s Restaurant at the St. Julien made a delicious angus beef short rib with a creamy polenta, bleu cheese and crispy onion rings. This dish was an absolute hit with Cinechef attendees.

Lucky’s Bakehouse and Creamery provided incredible desserts that were gushed over by all.
